We held our yearly holiday symposium in Hörsaal 6L, HHU on the 16.12.2025. The programm consisted of scientific talks and a get-together in the evening. 

Scientific programm/ Talks: 

• Ex situ-phytoremediation experiments on contaminated soil - from lab to greenhouse experiments,  Robin Steudtner (HZDR/Dresden)
• Inorganic Spectroscopy of Mixed-Valent Iron-Chalcogenide Centers, George Cutsail III (LMU/München)
• Shedding light on the hidden world of actinide/ lanthanide bonding and behavior using photon snectro-microscopy, Bianca Schacherl (KIT/Karlsruhe)
• Is Curiosity Enough? Reflections on an Unconventional Academic Joumey, Bjom Drobot (HZDR/Dresden)
• The Elusive Chemistry of Pyrroloquinoline Quinone, Ioana Ciubotaru (LMU/München)

The talks were followed by an enjoyable evening full of networking opportunities, a holiday buffet, lots of Plätzchen, a fantastic year review and some mulled wine. Overall, it was a great event!
