Open Positions

Our team is currently seeking motivated PhD students to join our lab as part of the SFB1309 - Chemical Biology of Epigenetic Modifications on the interdisciplinary projects listed below. 

• Position 1 (Inorganic Chemical Biology) involves the development of new reagents for DNA/RNA nucleobase modification.
• Position 2 (Biochemistry) is about researching extremophilic bacteria and characterising epigenetically active enzymes for application as robust sequencing tools. 

• Position 3 (Lanthanide Microbiology/Microbial Biochemistry) within the Cooperative Project LANTERN

We also have an open position for a Master student in biochemistry working on mechanistic investigations of Methanol Dehydrogenase (MDH) Enzymes by employing protein electrochemistry, spectroscopy and enzyme purification techniques. 

Further we have another open Master student position within the REEcovery project (reecovery[at]hhu.de). The project will deal with qPCR analysis of soil samples and provide insights into microbiology and environmental chemistry. The project is suitable to students from a Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry background. Please note, we are unable to pay a salary for the Master thesis projects!
